Nice large albumen image of Colonel Carrick W. Heiskell of Memphis, Tn. on horseback in his United Confederate Veterans uniform on horseback with his UCV metals. Col. Hiskell enlisted in Memphis, Tn. in 1861 into Co. K 19 Tennessee Infantry as a Lt. & later promoted to Captain, Major, Lt. Col. & Colonel. His unit fought in the western theater of the war & was at the battles of Franklin, Tn & Nashville, Tn. He was wounded at battle of Chickamauga on 9/19/63. The total size of the albumen image is 11 5/8"W & 13 5/8" with the actual image is 8" X 10". The image was taken in Memphis probably for one of the reunions there. The image is nice & clear with only a couple of small blemishes which don't detract. The Border  has Buvnill on the corner. On the back of the image is hand written "To Anne with ???? from Mr. & Mrs. CWH. Research shows this Col. with those three initials in Memphis, Tn. after the war. Heiskell was born 7-25-36 & died 7-29-23 in Memphis. Nice UCV image of Col. Heiskell of the 19th Tennessee Infantry CSA.
