Original US Military, type 1 M1816 Brooke Evans Contract, original Flintock Musket in .69 cal. & mfrd at Valley Forge, Pa. Good used condition on this US Flintlock with nice mellow patina on stock & on metal. Lockplate marked with B. Evans Valley Forge & American Eagle in middle & behind the hammer 1823. Action is very good on this musket & has great patina on the brass pan. Standard 42" round barrel in .69 cal. secured by three barrel bands. Marks on barrel are P M L.H. 1824. Iron mounts & correct steel ramrod with button head. Sling swivels are intact. Walnut stock in good used condition with an early, professional done, repair at front of lockplate. Traces of inspectors cartouches on left side of stock & has a Large carved M+B on backstock one side & a X carved on other side. Metal buttplate does not show the standard US, unusual!!! Brooke Evans, Philadelphia made 10,000 under US contract.
