Civil War Copper Cooking or Coffee Pot, 4th Ohio

Unique Copper Cooking or Coffee Pot reported to have been found in falmouth, Ky. The pot 9 1/2" tall, 6 1/2" wide at top, 6 1/2" wide at bottom with riveted handle. Lead around top of spout & bottom & looks to be lead repairs on the bottom & on the edge of bottom. Solid pot & was used alot. On the front of spout is period stamp of 4th Ohio  Com. A.  A little research on the 4th Ohio Cavalry shows they were in the falmouth area a few times during the Civil War. This unit was in Ky at Bowling Green near the beginning of the war & all through the middle part of Ky. in pursuit of Bragg around the Perryville Campaign. This unit also fought at Stones River, Tn, Chickamauga, Ga., Atlanta Campaign, Kilpatricks Raid & many other battles during the CW. An item used everyday by this 4th Ohio unit during the Civil War. Pot shows a lot of use but is still in good used condition.
