Civil War Dated M1852, C.Roby Navy Officer's Sword, Id'ed

Higher quality Civil War Navy Officer's Sword & Scabbard. 33 1/2" overall with 28" blade. Ornate C. Roby style etchings on the blade with 1861 in floral on ricasso. Also etched C. Roby & Co. W. Chelmsford, Mass. Blade has etched naval cannon with larger American Flag above with large ornate USN, Floral, Navy looped line also with floral & star. On the other side of the blade has etched Anchor on ricasso & above American Eagle on stand with military modifs & above with floral, large fowled Anchor with owners name more floral & Dophin. Nice mellow patina on brass guard with dophin on knucklebow & quillion. Cutouts in counterguard with floral & USN in ribbon. Pommel cap has American Eagle surrounded by stars. The grip is covered in rayskin which is all there & shows use. The three wire wrap on grip is all there.  The officer's name is etched inside the fowled anchor ( Carrie). Took a lot of looking but found the only officer a Benjamin F. Carrie who was Fleet Engineer during the Civil War. Found two different papers he wrote to the admiral of the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron  on different ships he had checked in 1864. These copies will come with the Sword. Standard leather scabbard with brass throat, middle band & drag with dolphin. A very scarce Civil War dated Navy Officer's sword with name of the Officer on the blade.
