Civil War, Dug in Georgia Confederate Trooper's Horse Bit
Nice example of the Civil War Confederate Cavalry Trooper's Horse bit. Standard flat sides troopers bit with deep horse mouth piece & solid rings. Tag on horse bit has the bit dug at Powder Springs, Georgia by Roger Blackmond in 1981. These bits are crudely made & have a pelham bit look. They were made all over the south by arsenals & blacksmiths for the Confederacy. This horse bit is solid & has a white number 563 on inside of the bit's left side. A nice & Civil War used Confederate Cavalry Horse Bit.`
