Civil War Era Whitney Navy Percussion Revolver 1861-62

Nice condition on this Civil War era E. Whitney Navy 2nd model 2nd type Percussion revolver. 6 shot, .36 cal. with 7 1/2" oct. barrel. All matching serial nos. 4808. Barrel marked on top E.Whitney/N.Haven & sn: 4808 L on bottom. Smooth metal overall with great chocolate brown patina. Cylinder still has some scene intact. Brass post front sight intact. Action is vg. Loading lever marked with SN:4808 & L . Good, used, smooth two piece walnut grips. Holster wear on muzzle of barrel. These Whitney Navy revolvers were very popular with the CS cavalry. These revolvers were purchased also by Union gov't for army & Navy. This is a great conditioned example with great color of a E. Whitney Navy revolver which was widely used by both Confederates & Yankee  soldiers.Â
