Civil War, Excellent, M1851 Navy Colt Revolver with Holster

An excellent example of the Civil War Colt Navy Revolver with the original Flap Holster. This Navy Colt came out of the Colt's factory in 1863 with serial no. 174905. Standard Colt Navy Revolver with 6 shot, .36 caliber & 7 1/2" oct. barrel. Really nice metal on this Navy Colt with a lot of original bluing turning dark on barrel, hammer & with traces of case hardening on loading lever & just a trace on frame. Top of barrel is marked with --Address Col. Saml Colt New-York U.S. America-- which is very clear. Frame marked Colts Patent also very clear. All matching serial nos. on barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap, Cylinder, Cylinder rod & wedge. Cylinder has clear stamped Colt Patent No. 4905 & has around 85% of the Naval battle cylinder scene intact. Action is very excellent. Brass trigger guard is stamped with 36CAL on left side & has serial no. & brass back strap has stamped on butt 4 & serial no. Nice original wood grips with around 80% original varnish intact. Well used original Patent Leather flap holster in which the pistol is perfectly outlined on the leather which shows this revolver is the one which was kept. The leather shows a lot of use with designs on flap & looks to have been purposely cut out at top for hammer. Small hole above where cylinder would be when gun is in the holster. Real neat where the original belt loop was is just the top left & the owner cut a loop in the leather to fit on his belt which shows a lot of use. The bottom of the holster at muzzel has a plug which is intact. A really excellent Civil War M1851 Navy colt revolver with original flap holster.
