Civil War M1849, 6 shot, Colt Pocket Revolver with 6" Barrel
Excellent condition on this Civil War era M1849 Colt Pocket revolver with 6' Octagon barrel & 6 shot cylinder. Smooth metal on this colt with plum colored patina from the original bluing. 6" octagon barrel marked Address Col. Saml Colt New-York U.S. America. Barrel has sharp corners & has serial no. 256492 & has original front sight. Frame is marked with Colt Patent & 256492. Cylinder has clear 90%+ hold up scene & marked Colts Patent 56492 & also has the dark plum patina & is in .31 cal. Brass trigger guard has same serial no. & marked 31 cal. & has nice mellow patina. The brass backstrap also with mellow patina is marked with same serial no. Loading lever has trace of case hardening & has same serial no. Cylinder rod also has same serial no. Very nice walnut grips with serial no. inside inner channel with varnish. wedge also has same serial no. This colt came out of the factory in 1864. A really nice Colt 6shot M1849 Colt pocket model with 6: barrel.Â
