Civil War Used E .Whitney Navy Revolver, US Gov't Inspected, US Army Contract 1862

A true Civil War used Army contract Whitney Navy Revolver. 2nd Model 4th type Whitney Navy with 7 11/16" Oct. barrel, 6 shot, .36 caliber Percussion revolver with serial no. 14135 & came from Whitney factory to US Army contract in 1862. Barrel is marked with clear N Haven, E. Whitney has worn & some of the letters are intact. Metal is smooth on this Whitney Navy with great gray patina. Action works VG. 14135 Sn is on loading lever,  bottom of barrel, back of the cylinder, bottom of trigger guard, bottom of frame under trigger guard. SN is also on both of the two piece wood grips which are in good used condition & has the US inspectors cartouche on left side.  US inspectors initials (B) on both sides of the barrel & on side of frame, brass trigger guard & double (B) on the cylinder. Brass post front sight intact. This Whitney saw the elephant. A getting scarce US gov't inspected army contract Whitney Navy percussion Revolver.
