Confederate Captured, M1860 Millard Contract, Cav. Sword with Names, 3rd Tn. Cav. Forrest

Nice Millard Contract M1860 Cavalry Sword & Scabbard with two soldiers names on brass guard.  J. K. Wood on counter guard &  whats left of W.H. Ennis on side of guard. Both of these soldiers were attached to Nathan Bedford Forrest's 3rd Tennessee Cavalry. Sword in VG used condition with Standard slightly curved blade nice condition with some cross grain intact  with scarce Straight line  D.J. Millard Clayville, N.Y. on one side of blade & U.S. C.E.W., 1862 on the other side. Original Leather grip cover shows use & all the original twisted wire intact. Nice mellow patina on brass guard, pommel & cap which has inspector CEW intact.  On side of Pommel was cut in large X. Original steel scabbard with normal use dings & one indent near bottom which looks like was put there on purpose. Both Wood & Ennis were in Co. B of the Confederate 3rd Tn. Cavalry under N.B. Forrest. Have copies of both of these soldier's records. Looked up the names on sites one other J.K. Wood was found in US cav but with both names & being in the same unit it would be most likely these are the CS soldiers who captured & used this sword. A really nice M1860 Millard Contract captured sword with the two names of the CS soldiers.
