E.Whitney CW Era Navy Percussion Revolver, 1861-62
Nice used condition on this Whitney Navy 2nd Model 2nd type percussion revolver. 6 shot, .36 cal. with a 7 1/2" octagonal barrel with E. Whitney/N. Haven marked on top & serial no. 4109 & C on bottom. Serial no. all matching 4109 which came out of factory in 1861 or 1862. Loading lever also has the Sn: 4109. Metal smooth with normal use dings overall & has a good grayish to dark patina. Nice conditioned walnut two piece wood grips. Action is good & tight. Cylinder has traces of the cylinder scene intact. These Whitneys were popular with southern cavalry & were purchased by US gov't for both army & navy. A nice condition E.Whitney Navy big frame revolver that was used a lot by both sides during the War of Northern Aggression.
