Early 1812 Era Mock Horsehead Pommel US Dragoon Sword W/ Gilt & Fire Bluing On Blade
Early 1812 era US Dragoon cavalry sword & original scabbard. The sword & scabbard are 38" L with a 33" X 11/4" smooth blade with gilted etchings & fire bluing. Gold Gilted etchings on one side are floral with fence, floral, flags drums & American shield & above that another floral. Fire bluing up the blade ending in a swirl. The other side of the blade etchings are fence flags drums cannon barrels & lances, US Dragoon soldier on horseback with sword, American Eagle with E. Pluribus Unum above & Indian Princess with Headdress & floral above. Fire bluing goes up the blade with small area near swirl that has some rubbing. Steel guard with languets & has rare mock horsehead Pommel. Wood grips with 95% original leather intact & has original twisted wire & straight wire grip wrap intact. Steel guard in great condition with two small dents towards the drag. Early War of 1812 era US Dragoon sword & scabbard in great condition with fire bluing & gold gilting on the blade. $1950.00
