A really nice example of the Worcester Production Allen & Thurber 6 shot, .31 cal. percussion Pepperbox. Really nice brown patina on this pepperbox. Barrel is 4" fluted style with AllenThurber & Co. & Worcester on the same flute. Bag style two piece wood grips in vg condition with serial no. on the back of each grip which is 771. Floral engraving on the both side of frame & on barrel guard & swirls on the back strap. The action is excellent on this Allen Thurber. Serial no. 771 is on metal handle underneath wood grips as well as 771 on spring. The SN. 771 is also on the barrel between two nipples. These pepperboxes were manufactured at Worcester between 1847 & 1865. A really nice example of the Allen Thurber Pepperbox
