Excellent CW M1860 Ames Mfr Light Cavalry Sword/Scabbard, Initials on Scabbard

Excellent condition on this Civil War, US Light Cavalry sword & scabbard. Made by Ames Mfr. Co. with really desirable 1861 date. 34 1/2" slightly curved blade in great used condition. Ricasso marked with Ames Mfr Co  Chicopee Mass & on other side U.S. B.H. (inspector) & 1861. This 1861 date on the sword is one that a lot of people look for as being early in the war & was definitely used. Brass guard with great mellow patina & pommel x cap with same patina & mkd JH ( inspector). Leather on wood grip is all there with light wear spots in a few areas. All original brass wire wrap on grip is intact. Peening at the top of pommel cap shows this sword has never been apart. Steel scabbard in vg used condition with BH inspector mks same as on the blade. There are three initials on the scabbard just below the throat which are H J M. There is also an larger X. I have put some pics of these initials on this site but you need to blow up the picture to see them better.  Possible Reb Captured piece. A really great condition on this US Ames Mfr with 1861 date & has matching scabbard with inspectors marks.
