War of 1812 Wallis Contract British light Dragoon Flintlock Pistol

Nice example of the large Caliber, Wallis Contract British Officer's Light Dragoon Flintlock Pistol. Wallis contract early 1800s & were used in the American Colonies War of 1812 & the European Napoleonic Wars. These pistol were large caliber .75 & would have been found in pairs on saddle mounted Pommel holsters. This example has 9" round barrel with two british proof marks. Lock plate is marked with Wallis Warranted. Pistol has regulation brass furniture. Pistol has metal ramrod. Wood stock is good with one small seperation at the rear of lock plate. Left side has brass S shaped sideplate which has letters & may have been a name. Metal barrel, hammer & lockplate & trigger have smooth metal with great dark patina. Brass triggerguard, butt, thimbles & sideplate have nice mellow patina. Action is very good on this War of 1812 British Flint pistol. A really nice example of the British Light Dragoon Flintlock Pistol.
